Golf Lessons for Beginners in Clearwater, FL
Golf is a really hard game, and trying to self-teach it is nearly impossible. Friends, spouses, and YouTube aren’t a substitute for in-person coaching. Even the PGA players you see on TV have coaches.
Hi this is Michael, and I’d like to welcome you to this section written, just for you. I’m here to make learning to golf as easy as possible.
Although you’re not a student of mine yet, you’ll find my mantra ‘We make learning golf simple’ ends the confusion from the overload of information out there.
If you’ve never golfed before, you’ll find the next few paragraphs a breath of fresh air. And if you have played, but struggle getting the ball in the air, hitting it straight or both, this will help you too.
The simplest way to go from little or no confidence when you golf, to becoming a confident golfer, is to follow the next 3 steps.
#1 Realize the importance of the letters A, B, C. This means you’ll have a maximum of three things to focus on in each lesson, which simplifies everything. You’ll learn to FEEL changes instead of having to memorize them.
#2 You’ll start your instruction from the simplest, easiest to apply stroke – putting. This is the quickest way to gain confidence. If instead we start with the most difficult stroke, the full swing, it’s easy to feel demoralized in the beginning since the full swing requires more coaching to create consistency. With putting which is 40% of your shots, you’ll gain confidence at the very first lesson.
#3 Your instruction will include three core components necessary to create confidence on the course. These three vital components are putting, short game around the greens, and learning a consistent swing – from hitting your driver, to fairway shots, and irons.
All our instruction focuses on slowly building a foundation that allows you to feel good on the course with others within a couple months. I’ve heard today’s society and many people’s expectations compared to a microwave. They expect instant success. Learning golf takes time, patience, and expert coaching.
If you feel you’re ready to speak with me personally, call me on my cell phone at 727-776-8380. I’ll be happy design a program that’s comfortable for you and makes learning simple and fun, instead of stressful.
PS I thought you’d like to hear what a few of my students have said about their coaching.
Mike, thank you so much the golf lesson, it was fantastic. Being my first lesson I was a bit skeptical but at this point there is no skepticism left, my game has improved quite a bit from just one lesson. These are the building blocks I felt that I needed to escalate my game to the next level. Thanks to you Mike I feel very confident to be able to do that now. Thanks again Mike for all your special attention and kindness.
After years of lessons and different instructors with minor to no improvements in a game I didn’t want to give up, I have finally seen vast improvements in every aspect Mike has instructed on. Chipping, putting, driving… if only I had found him years and thousands of dollars ago!
Hi Mike, before our lessons, I really hadn’t played much golf and had certainly never parred a hole during golf games. After about 4 lessons, I parred, not one but three holes!
I am so glad I took lessons with you. You have a unique skill to teach not only What needs to be done to learn the sport, but also the How and Why. That has made an incredible difference in allowing my thoughts to align with the kinetic motion of the golf swing.
Thank you!
Mike, I played at Belleair Country Club and practiced on the practice green. My lag putts got very close which was what I was trying for. What I learned at the clinic on getting out of the bunker has been amazing. I have had much success with the tips you taught and I’m so thrilled.
I’ve come to understand that the power of positive thinking is key in having a successful game. I was able to par the first two holes on the East Course after your clinic. Thanks for everything you taught me. It’s been very helpful.
Hi Mike, Terri here, I wanted you to know that I have gotten to the range once or twice not as much as I’d like you to work and family however when I am able to apply all of the factors we addressed I’m seeing a significant difference in my swing and my distance. I also drove the ball furthest I ever had last time I played at 180 yards. I’ll be ready for another lesson soon and might have a friend that I could interest in joining me.
Mike is a phenomenal coach. I got my money’s worth in the first 15 minutes. The rest was just a bonus. Mike corrected a couple things in my set-up that I would’ve never been able to figure out on my own or with any amount of YouTube videos. I used to have a slight slice to most of my shots. With just a few recommendations from Mike, I was hitting my 7 iron consistently straight and about 10 yards further… all within the hour! I can’t recommend him enough.
